Faith Wings

DCF 1.0

Tiny wings,

White and fragile,

Unfurl slowly –

Stretching up to meet the sunlight;

Gradually they harden

And flutter slightly,

But they cannot bear my weight.

Patiently, I stand on aching feet,

Weary of my own strength

For it cannot carry me

Over rivers and chasms.

Then suddenly

My white wings

Stretch out to full span,

And effortlessly they lift me up;

I can’t go high at first –

But must fall back down and use my feet.

Then up again –

Longer this time.

My faith is stronger:

I can soar forever on these wings,

Given to me by God Himself.
