He Has Overcome

It’s a wretched world;

One that’s broken, shredded, torn.

The people laugh

And say, ‘there is no God!’

They embody a living death,

Yet reject the One who offers life.

The nagging question torments,

How can this be?

If He is in control,

Why does pain run free

Like a vicious predator,

Leaving no survivors?

But there are no accidents in Your plan,

You take each wounded, desperate soul,

And hold them tenderly

In Your loving arms.

You say to them, ‘Take heart,

I have overcome the world.’
