Stars above your heart

I stare and stare at the black sharpied words

Written all over my bedroom wall

The disco balls and cassette tapes in my dreams

Form choppy sounds that don’t make sense at all;

I look through a diamond frame,

And see the world standing there

Glowing in pomegranate light –

But I don’t deserve it.

Traffic lights blend with shimmering rain,

Till I can’t tell the difference.

But does it matter anymore?

There are stars above your heart;

And I will wait until they fall

Then stoop to catch them, every one,

Oh I’d never leave them lying there.
